Hotel Nosegawa

 Description

"Relaxed", "At Home", these are the feelings that the manager hopes that guests feel when visiting Hotel Nosegawa.  This facility is the main establishment in this isolated settlement and a focus for the community.

Ingredients are consciously chosen to reflect the local environment and culture, including wild meats such as deer, wild boar, and peasant.  Delicious Amago river fish, catch in the river next to the hotel are also popular.

Hotel Nosegawa is popular for walkers on the Kumano Kodo Kohechi pilgrimage route, but can also make for a unique and relaxed side trip from Koyasan with their free shuttle.

This plan includes supper, breakfast, and lunch box.  Thirteen dishes with deer meat grilled on claypot and deer shabu-shabu.  Wild boar meat is commonly called "Botan" by local people since the slice of meat resembles peony petal. Hence wild boar meat is often decorated imitating a beautiful peony flower on a dish.

This is the best plan for walkers as there are no places to buy food along the trails for lunch.

Notes
◆ CAUTION ◆
In the mountains, it gets dark quickly after sunset, especially along the forested Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route.  For your safety, it is highly recommended to properly plan to arrive at your accommodation before sunset.

 Important Note for Kohechi Hikers

The Kohechi route (Koyasan to Hongu) runs through the central part of the Kii Peninsula from north to south, and is some of the steepest of all the Kumano pilgrimage routes, crossing three passes at altitudes of over 1,000 meters, including Obako Peak, along the way. This is more challenging than the Nakahechi route and recommended for advanced, experienced hikers only.

To ensure the safety of our guests, we require reservations in all the villages along the Kohechi route (Koyasan, Omata, Miura-guchi, and Totsukawa Onsen). Even if guests use KUMANO TRAVEL for part of the route, we will need to confirm the itinerary and accommodation for their entire Kohechi trip.

If we are unable to confirm, for your safety, partial requests will not be accepted.

Thank you for your understanding.
