Minshuku Kawarabi-so

 Description

An important accommodation along the Kumano Kodo, Kohechi route, Minshuku Kawarabiso marks the stage between the Koyasan~Omata, and Omata~Miura-guchi sections.  A soak in the nearby Nosegawa Onsen is a great way to heal and restore tired legs!

This plan includes supper, breakfast, and lunchbox and recommended for those walking the Kohechi route of the Kumano Kodo, as there are no stores in the area to buy lunch at for the next day’s walk.

Notes
◆ CAUTION ◆
In the mountains it gets dark quickly after sunset especially along the forested Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route.  For your safety, it is highly recommended to properly plan to arrive at your accommodation before sunset.

 Important Note for Kohechi Hikers

The Kohechi route (Koyasan to Hongu) runs through the central part of the Kii Peninsula from north to south, and is some of the steepest of all the Kumano pilgrimage routes, crossing three passes at altitudes of over 1,000 meters, including Obako Peak, along the way. This is more challenging than the Nakahechi route, and recommended for advanced, experienced hikers only.

To ensure the safety of our guests, we require reservations in all the villages along the Kohechi route (Koyasan, Omata, Miura-guchi, and Totsukawa Onsen). Even if guests use KUMANO TRAVEL for part of the route, we will need to confirm the itinerary and accommodation for their entire Kohechi trip.

If we are unable to confirm, for your safety, partial requests will not be accepted.

Thank you for your understanding.
