Review: Amazing place!

I am a solo travel and must say Momofuku is a great place to stay. I booked Momofuku about 15 days before my trip. And since it is off season, booking Momofuku is not hard.

I stayed here for one night and really helping me recover from the physical fatigue. I hiked for 17 km before I arrive, and the dinner was so great that I ate all of them. So does the breakfast and lunch, really help me complete the Ogumotori-goe.

I recommend Minshuku Momofuku to everyone.

Review: Amazing place to stay

We had a wonderful stay at Minshuku Momofuku. It was easy to find and in a great location. The Onsen was amazing (especially after a hike) and the food was fantastic. The dinner was three courses so make sure you don't snack before hand. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to the lady who looked after us, served up dinner and made up the beds. She is amazing (so sorry I can't remember her name). Check in and check out were quick and easy.

Good option to stay in Koguchi. The host, Hide, provided with excellent meals and a comfortable room for the night.

Review: Cozy bed room and delicious meal for both supper and breakfast including lunch box

I stayed at Monofuku on Dec 15th with my daughter to enjoy the final hiking trail named as Okumotorigoe the following morning.
When I got to Momofuku at around 5 PM on Dec 15th, the owner of the Minshuku welcomed us like his son and niece,
which gave me a good impression about this place right on the spot.
His cooking skill was out of this world and my daughter kept saying that the meal was so nice that there was no way to forget this place.
So all our family member including my wife and son , of cource my daughter included , would like to visit this place again around in the middle of winter of 2024.
I look forword to greeting the owner of this place and the meal that makes my mouth watering.

Review: Minshuku Momofuku- our favorite stay!

This was the most authentic Japanese stay we had on the trail. Nakazawa-san shares the rooms in his expanded house with pilgrim/trail guests. By the way, this is the house he grew up in, so he knows the area like the back of his hand.
We arrived several hours early, but Nakazawa-san make us feel welcome, comfortable, and at home with hot tea and a snack. The house is older, but immaculate and very comfortable. He doubles the futons so they are very comfortable.

We later learned that Nakawawa-san was a chef in Osaka, before he moved back to Momofuku. Trust me when I say that the dinner he prepared for us was unparalleled with fresh ingredients that he personally sources.

Kogughi is a small village/town, so everything is close. The local store was a 2 minute walk. The house is essentially on the Kumano Kodo trail so its super convenient.

Last, Nakazawa-san has an infectious hearty laugh- he is a dear human being- very generous and kind. We felt privileged to share his house for the night on our trip.

If you stay at Minshuku Momofuku you are in for a treat!

Our host was fantastic. So warm and clearly loved hosting guests. The food was spectacular. The room was comfortable. Highly recommend!!!
