KUMANO TRAVEL

Lacoma Guesthouse is a renovated inn 4 minutes walk from JR Esumi Station in Susami Town on the southwestern coast of the Kii Peninsula. It has 4 Japanese-style rooms and a shared bath, kitchen, toilet, wash area, and workspace. It can be rented by the night or for longer stays. The owner moved from Osaka to the area to create a relaxing shared work and rest space for guests just minutes from the Pacific Ocean. This inn is recommended for those who are walking the Kumano Kodo Ohechi as it is relatively close to the Nagaizaka section.

Sunset Susami is an older, larger facility near Susami beach, a short 7-minute walk from the JR Susami station.  The guestrooms are Japanese style with shared facilities such as communal baths and toilets.  The Onsen water is smooth and silky.  Meals are served in the first-floor dining room.  The hotel is popular with people who enjoy outdoor activities, such as swimming at the beach, cruising around on a rental bicycle, or going for a hike on a section of the Kumano Kodo Ohechi route especially the Nagai-zaka section.

Anakashico Hostel Kumano Kodo is a traditional Japanese house remodeled in the style of an international dormitory-style backpackers' hostel just 5 minutes walk from Susami Station. The owner started this inn after returning from a study-abroad experience in the hopes of creating a fun career while backpacking around the world. The inn faces the seas and is close to the station and about 10 minutes from the Kumano Kodo Ohechi trail. There are mixed and women-only dormitory rooms. Only No Meals plans available, but there are a few shops, restaurants, and even a wine bar nearby. This inn is great for guests walking the Kumano Kodo Ohechi route!
