Koguchi Shizen-no-Ie
Description
Shizen-no-Ie can be translated as "Nature’s House" and is surrounded by mountains. This countryside school was first transformed into a lodging facility in 1982 to accommodate and facilitate summer camps for students, and offer a place to stay for pilgrims and walkers on the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route. It is located on an island at the confluence of the Wada-gawa and Kamazuka-gawa rivers, which joins the larger Akagi-gawa river nearby, a tributary of the Kumano-gawa river.
