Minshuku Nonaka Sanso is a family run guesthouse in the Nonaka area of Nakahechi village next to route 311.
An annex cottage with an Irori hearth is the focus of the minshuku, where meals are sometimes taken.
There is a river running behind the property. In the spring, fireflies dance with the sparks from the fire.
This friendly inn is a popular place to stay for pilgrims and walkers on the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route, as it is located approximately half-way between Takijiri-oji and Kumano Hongu Taisha.
It is about a 25 minute walk downhill from Tsugizakura-oji to Minshuku Nonaka Sanso.
This accommodation also offers luggage shuttle services.

Vegetarianism is not common in the Japanese countryside. Please double-check the Vegetarian Type which the service provider can accommodate to make sure that it meets your needs. Often being able to eat trace amounts of the ubiquitous Katsuo Dashi (fish stock) makes it easier to find options.
NOTE: It is difficult and not culturally sensitive to change meal requests, or make new meal demands, onsite when you arrive at accommodations. Vegetarian types must be confirmed during the reservation process and respected during your visit.
