If you are searching for a unique experience, then staying in the NIPPONIA HOTEL Koyasan Pilgrimage Railway in the classic Koyashita train station is a great opportunity.This rural station is unmanned with the original staff rooms renovated into guest rooms. Large classic framed windows offer views on the platform and river while a railway soundtrack plays of trains coming and going as they slowly wind their way towards Koyasan through the steep river valley.
There are train uniforms to try on, great for some fun pictures!
This price plan is for the Koya guestroom with 2 double beds and complimentary breakfast.
Children, Toddlers and Infants
● Children (7 to 11) and Toddlers (3 to 6) count the same as adults.
● Infants (0 to 2) are free if no bedding is required.
Breakfast: Traditional musubi rice balls made with local ingredients and rice cooked in a classic woodburning stove is offered as a breakfast at the Omusubi Stand Kudo. This café is in the Kudoyama Station, a ~4-minute ride from Koyashita station, which has been colorfully remodeled with abstract Japanese washi paper. You can enjoy your breakfast in a renovated waiting room with wooden siding covering the walls and ceiling or an elevated picnic area. Train tickets and breakfast coupons are placed in the guest room.
Uniforms: The station master's uniform is only available in the Koya guestroom.
