概要

大鳥居を見下ろす高台にあるゲストハウスです。

熊野本宮大社からほど近い徒歩10分のところに、一軒の民家をリニューアルしたゲストハウスがオープンしました。

高台に位置しておりますので、お宿からは大斎原の大鳥居が見えます。

熊野本宮大社や熊野本宮館、大斎原（熊野本宮大社旧社地）まで歩いて行けますので、本宮観光の拠点として、また熊野古道ウォークにもぴったりなお宿です。

Nice little guesthouse on the hill. Unfortunately, there were webs and spiders in our room and it needed a bit more cleaning.

Good stay without cooked meals

The house is located on a small hill, so you can even see a bit of big torii. The stay does not include meals, however the instant noodle, breads for breakfast and other snacks and drinks were available to purchase. Coffee and tea were included in a stay. We all slept well.

Comfy guesthouse in convenient location

We enjoyed staying in the comfy tatami room of guest house Yui. Check-in was really easy and the common area was very cozy. There is a delicious ramen restaurant close by where we had dinner, absolutely recommend going there! For breakfast, we had some snacks that were on sale in the common area, but if that is not enough, the guesthouse is close to several shops.

We stayed here a second night as Hongu was a rest stop for us. The same room wasn't available on both nights when we reserved so we had to change rooms. There was minimal hassle. They asked us to leave our packed luggage in our room and they moved them to our new room for us.

The guesthouse is a walk up a hill, but still convenient to get to the Hongu bus terminal. A nice lady helped to check us in. We used the kitchen to prepare our noodles. They have instant noodles for sale, though we bought ours from a supermarket on the main street. A washer and dryer are available for use at a small fee.

Hostel vibes in a traditional Japanese house

The room we stayed in was beautiful with tatmi mats and futon beds. There were many convenient amenities for purchase, like laundry, quick meals, drinks, etc. The location is convenient to the center of Hongu, all very walkable.

nice guesthouse away from home

no other travelers when we stay. So we were free to enjoy the living room and kitchen by our own and no need to be afraid of making noise to bring inconvenience to the others. Thanks a lot.

Fabulous stay

A perfect place for our 2 nights in Hongu. Sanae is a wonderful host ensuring we had a comfortable stay, including providing information in advance about local restaurants. The guesthouse has excellent facilities in the kitchen and a nice lounge for relaxing with other guests. It is a short walk into the main town area and an even shorter walk to the public Onsen.

Best stay on the pilgrimage

Thus guesthouse was excellent. We had such a warm reception from the owner, the shared kitchen was absolutely perfect (with a variety of food/drink items available for purchase), lovely room, and a nice location up the hill from town.

Sweet traditional place with great amenities

The guest house is located on top of the hill in Hongu, it’s very conveniently located, close to the center and the continuation of Kumano Kodo to Nachi. The place has beautiful traditional rooms and great amenities. I loved everything about my stay!

Semi DIY accommodation

No toilet on the second floor. At night, had to walk down a flight of stairs to the first level. Had a self serve kitchen, we bought beef from supermarket and cooked ourselves a beef steak. The kitchen only has salt and sugar, but we prepared it original flavor with just a little salt.

素敵なリビングコミュニケーション

ベランダで双子座流星群

本宮からは少し離れていて、坂の上にあるお宿で少しビックリしました。でもお部屋はエアコン、テレビ、ドレッサー、ドライヤーがありとても快適でした。リビングにもこたつや大きなテレビもあり、キッチンもきれいした。クリスマスの装飾も可愛かったです。自宅のような雰囲気です。軽食やドリンクも有料で置いてあったので便利だと思います。ただ、スーパーが一つでしかも閉店時間が早く、食事も1ヶ所なので早めに到着した方が良いと思います。(お寿司屋さんはとても美味しく、お店の方も面白かったです)オーナーの方も気さくで優しい方だったのでとても快適に過ごせました。またその日は双子座流星群があり、ベランダで観測できたことは本当に感動した体験でした。翌日、歩いて湯の峰温泉まで行く予定でしたが、宿の方のご厚意で車で送っていただき本当に助かりました。お陰でゆっくりつぼ湯や周辺の観光をすることができました。機会があればまた利用させていただきたいです。

Authentic guesthouse experience

Guest house Yui was by far the most cozy night we’ve spent in our stay in Japan. We had already 5 other stays at inns and hotels by then and this was by far my favourite. The Japanese style room we were staying had so comfortable bedding that we could hardly get up in the morning. The host of the guesthouse welcomed us and was helpful and hospitable. Our room, as well as the common areas, were very clean and well kept. Additionally, it’s in a serene and quiet location not far from the shrine and the Tori gate. I strongly suggest staying there for a night or two.

The perfect host

Our room was comfortable and the location was brilliant. The highlight was our host. She arranged a last-minute luggage transfer for one of our group who decided she didn’t want to carry her heavy backpack the 5th & 6th days of our pilgrimage.

Beautiful guesthouse with a fantastic common room

This was a little further to walk, but it was nearby to an onsen. The room was a lovely tatami room with access to a nice bath and western toilets. The common room was large and there was space to lounge around and cook your own meals. The also had ingredients and confectionary for sale with lots of information on display. The check-in process was great and the room was comfortable after a long three days of hiking.

Accomodation well set up to cater for travellers

This house was a great choice as it is close to the end of the Kumano Kodo, and close to bus stops. There is a well set up kitchen and nice lounge to relax in.

Good guesthouse with 5-star views (from 2nd floor) and very nice owner.

Rooms were very comfortable and perfectly clean. Owner was very nice and friendly (although speaking no English). My children really liked the shaved ice made for them by the owner. This was a very happy memory for them. The view from 2nd floor room balconies was superb - we can see the giant Torii and we can see beautiful night sky.

Great location and accommodation

I stayed at Guesthouse Yui during my Kumano Kodo hike. The accommodation was very clean comfortable and in a great location for those finishing their hike in Hongu. Despite arriving early my room was already prepared and available to use which was great after a long day of hiking! I really enjoyed chatting to the friendly host in the evening and having the convenience of local convenience stores nearby to purchase dinner and food for the next part of my hike.

本宮から近く、少し坂道が辛かったですが、最高の立地だと思います。オーナーも親切で、こちらの問い合わせに対して丁寧に対応して頂き、また部屋は広くて快適でした。おかげで翌朝、元気に出発でき良い旅の思い出ができました。

オーナーさんが共働きで経営されているゲストハウス、オーナーさん宅、一棟貸し禮、今回お世話になったゲストハウス結が3棟並んで建っています。ゲストハウスと聞くと、どうしてもドミトリータイプを想像しがちですが、個室タイプのプライバシー確保パターンなので、その辺りのアピールされるともっと利用とコスパの発信ができるのでは。到着した時は、当然オーナーさんは不在ですが玄関に連絡表があり、特に迷わず指定された部屋に入り、風呂のお湯溜め風呂に入り、洗濯物洗い、、電気コタツの完備された部屋でまったりさせて戴きました。オーナーも6時過ぎにはお越しになり、お疲れのところつい話し込んでしまう私の相手をして頂きありがたかったです。おすすめのゲストハウスです。

Good room to bed down in after the long walk!

Staff were not there upon arrival but had left very thoughtful and detailed instructions and recommendations. Comfortable bed and made to feel at home!

Very good choice for visiting Honggu area

Location is very good, 5 minutes walk to Honggu Daisha and the bus station nearby. The house is very well equipped with stuff for showing and cooking. And they even prepared convenience food there, you can have what you want by just leaving the money. Staff are very thoughtful, will give very clear instruction for self-check in.
