一棟貸切のお宿
もみじの里は、近露の静かなメインストリートの東端に位置する小さな一棟貸しのです。この古民家を改装した宿には、寝室・リビング・キッチン・バス・トイレが揃っています。大きな木製テーブルがリビングの中心となっています。
夕食はお弁当スタイルで宿泊施設へお届けし、朝食は「ハピネス近露夢」にてご用意します。また朝食時にはその日のお弁当もお渡しします。

チェックインは、近露王子の隣にある箸折茶屋 （住所：田辺市中辺路町近露907-2,TEL：090-5653-2944）にて行っております。

●夕食は 17:00〜18:00の間 にお部屋へお届けします。

Comfortable little house with tasty meals.
Cozy little house in Chikatsuyu village. It was simple and clean. Dinner box was delivered to the house. Breakfast & lunch box was at the Hashiori-Jaya Cafe down the road where we also checked in. The food was tasty. The breakfast is a little light for those with bigger appetites so you may want to pick up some snacks from the A-Coop grocery store or the bakery for the next day’s walk to Hongu.

Perfect Stay
Staying at Minushuku Momiji-no-Sato was exactly what we needed after a long day of hiking. Comfortable rooms with great views and all the amenities one could require already available. The meals were delicious and filling. Would highly recommend this stay.

Whole guest house
It was great to have the whole guest house because we really needed it to dry all our clothes and everything. Dinner was average and breakfast was very small but I bought extra eggs to make up for it. Checkin was very good as she allowed us to checkin before 3pm. We were very wet and it was very cold.

Beautiful little house
I loved staying here, having a little house to ourselves. It was traditional style and had all we needed. Super-duper clean. Shower was great. My husband thought the futon was a bit hard, but I was ok. Check in was easy at the cafe. There’s a decent size mini-market in town for stocking up. Dinner was a bento box, not huge but enough and tasty. And there’s a bus stop at the door. Overall the place had a great feeling of care - definitely recommend!

宿は写真通りでとてもキレイでした。1棟借りのメリット、人数の変更がフレキシブルに行えます。 洗濯物の干場があれば、尚由でした。 弁当は可もなく不可もなく、自転車の無料レンタルが無かったのが残念。 Aコープまでは徒歩では遠く、近隣のお酒屋さんで購入。

Wonderful Stay Along the Kumono Kudo
We were very happy with this clean and well appointed accommodation. We loved the comfortable futons, the well stocked kitchen, the washer for our clothes, and the delicious meals that were offered. We highly recommend this stay!

Nice cottage in Chikatsuyu
Loved the little cottage in the village. We had the whole house to ourselves and it was well-stocked and very comfortable. The meals are rated lower because the quantity was small. The dinner was delivered to the home and while delicious, the box was small, especially after a long-days hike. The breakfast was also similar, though one could purchase additional bread/eggs/coffee by paying extra. The bento lunchbox also had the same issue. (and we are not big eaters!!). I believe one of the rice-balls (onigiri) in the lunchbox had fish flakes in it, though we had indicated we don't eat fish. I believe this was just an honest mistake.

Lovely generous-sized house, skip the meals
The house is very generously sized and spot clean. We enjoyed a shower and bath after the Kumano Kodo's steepest leg. Really lovely accomodation. The dinner was quite disappointing and the breakfast too small. The lunchbox was great though, nice onigiri. I would skip the meals (which is true for all accommodations in the village that cater through Hashiori-jaya cafe). You can self-cater if you arrive early enough for the co-op (shelves go a little bare close to 6 pm closing time), or the beer garden at Nonagase Guest House serves delicious bruschetta and wine. Heard good things about the restaurant in Nonaka. So, worth staying at, definitely sort out food separately.

Nice little house
It is a very comfortable guest house with complete facilities (including washing machine). It is a good place to rest after a long walk. 4 of us stayed after our first day walk from Takajiri-Oji. The check-in place is on the walk route Hashiori-Chaya (which next to Chikatsuyu-Oji). But the Guest House is 5 minutes away. Dinner was delivered to where we stay, but the breakfast has to come back to the chaya. I personally recommend to stay with minshuku momiji, if you are on your Kumano trail.

Great !
Minshuku momiji no sato superb. After whole day down pour rain, we step in the minshuku that full of facilities that just in time. Washing machine, heater, hot shower and comfortable bedding. The place is big enough and nice ! Next to the Kumano kodo route and next to bus station, only thing is you need to walk a bit distance to the supermarket.

Happiness Chikatsu Kumano
Nice host, provided enough information considering language barrier. Signage at cafe with instructions helped. Lovely little town with everything required. Whole small house with kitchen, 2 rooms, bathroom and laundry. Good heating for cold nights and right on the trail.

Not too bad
Good place to stay after a long day walk, having the all apartment for ourselves was a major plus, the unit was clean and warm, the only problem was the food, not that great, 1 slice of bread and a tablespoon size of yogurt and egg for breakfast was pretty bad, if I knew that there was a well stocked supermarket down the road I wouldn’t have wasted it the money for the food.

Little House on the Kumano Kodo trail
Minshuku house was located perfectly on the Kumano Kodo trail at Chikatsuyu. The lady at the cafe who had the keys was very pleasant and waited for us despite arriving a bit late from trekking. you rent the whole house and comfortably good for 4 people and possibly stretch to 6. the place was vary clean with complete amenities. there was cold beer in the fridge and cup-of-noodles available (you had to pay but inexpensive). the area was quiet and you'll certainly have time to relax and recover. there is a bus stop in front of the house (if needed).

＞宿について 女性１名で利用させていただきました。 1名で1棟貸をお借りするのに恐縮でしたが、誰にも気を遣わなくてよかったので結果最高でした。心が温まる接客・おもてなし、本当にうれしかったです。 ・チェックインおよび朝食の食事場から距離があったので、正直少しだけ煩わしい思いはありました ・夕食はお弁当（仕出し）でした。男性だと量が足りないかもしれません。（部屋に有料のカップ麺はありました） ・部屋に洗濯機と洗剤があったのは本当に助かりました。 ・冷凍庫に氷があったのも地味にうれしかったです また熊野古道を歩きたいと思っているので、ぜひまた利用したいです。本当にありがとうございました！

Great location, check in average
After a challenging first day’s walk in humid 32degrees, it was a little awkward finding the check- in down the road. We had already walked past it, but fortunately an elderly Japanese lady helped us. It would have been good if we had more flexibility with timing of breakfast as we needed to leave early. Great Place for Respite
This is the second time I stayed at Minshuku Momiji No Sato. The place is big and the amenities were wonderful. I came in March when it was cold and the heater was wonderful. I came again in July and the air conditioning saved me. I was able to use all the appliances without any problem. As for the meals: dinner and breakfast were delicious and filling and the bento box was convenient. I will definitely go back for more!

Marvelous Minshuku
The minshuku was quite modern. It was a big place for a single person as I had the whole house to myself. I arrived earlier than check-in time, but was allowed to go ahead and enter the facilities. The dinner, breakfast and bento lunch were sufficient and delicious. Mrs. Ura was very patient and accomodating. Would stay here again.

Average guest house, extraordinary service
I’ll be honest: Momiji-no-sato is a pretty average minshuku, as the building itself is concerned. But the service was just fantastic. Shortly after I arrived in town, the sky opened up in a huge thunderstorm; the owner came out of nowhere and let me go in early. The next day, although Kumano Travel told me it would not be possible to send my luggage ahead, the owner made it happen. Just wonderful!

Lovely rental house
This was very conveniently located for the Kumano Kodo hike and a well-appointed house. The bed was a bit firmer than I'm used to, but it was very quiet and I slept well. The dinner bento was collected from a nearby cafe. It was very tasty, but after a day of walking I would happily have eaten a bit more. The hostess was very friendly and has a wonderful collection of plants in the cafe that she very kindly explained!

Perfect place to end our first day walking

Spacious rental house with everything you need
A comfortable house with a very nice and smiley lady host, who was very patient with my total lack of Japanese communication skills… The washing machine in the house is a big plus for pilgrims with no more clean clothes! My bento dinner was delivered at 4:30pm, a lot earlier than expected (when I was still in the shower!) but I was glad that food did turn up (although the prawn tempura was not consistent with the dietary requirements specified in my booking). The food provided for dinner, breakfast and lunch was quite simple, but was appreciated for the convenience. Check-in instructions were slightly confusing. The name of the café where check-in is done is prominently shown only in Japanese, which doesn’t help those who have been given English instructions. The name of the café spelt in English is written only in a very small and half-faded sign at the door in the middle of many other things and therefore is very easy to miss. When I eventually identified that as the café for checking in, I saw the ‘closed’ sign at the door and I could not see anyone inside. After spending quite some time wandering around the small village not knowing what to do (the museum was closed that day), I decided to knock on the door of the café just in case, and fortunately the nice lady host was inside and greeted me immediately.

Absolute highlight of our Japanese trip
I could not have imagine beforehand, how super special it is to have an entire Japanese home just for ourselves. We visited the minshuku in mid-March and I was originally a bit anxious about how warm the accommodation will be, especially sleeping on tatamis. It turned out to be brilliant, very convenient and it was easy to control the temperature through the multiple air conditioners. The dinner and breakfast was also delicious and otherworldly. I can only highly recommend this place for anybody. I wish I could be there right now...

目の前がバス停なので次の日に本宮に向かう際にとても便利。家に帰ったような安心感ありました。ホテルよりも落ち着きたい方におすすめ。食事はお弁当お願いしてましたが、5分ほどのコープや道の駅で食材買って自炊もありなのでおすすめ。 Googleマップだと誤った場所を示すので、注意が必要。箸折茶屋で鍵をいただくので、目標は箸折茶屋で調べてください。その後は、観音寺前バス停の目の前が宿泊場所なので調べたらすぐに行けます。

Standalone house with a washing machine
Suggest that there could be an extra pair of sandals for both of us and also some hangers for us to hang our clothes. It was getting cold when we were there but the fridge was switched on which was a waste of electricity. We were there earlier than the check in time 3pm, we met Ms Ura at her cafe. We wished she could have allowed us to check in earlier.

A big private guesthouse, very clean and comfortable and well located. There is a good food shop nearby and basic kitchen facilities. Lunch and breakfast provided were good. Dinner is delivered early but we were able to use the kitchen to warm it up later. Hosts very friendly and helpful

Great private rental house (brand new, clean and spacious)
We had the whole rental house to ourselves, and the bento lunchbox dinner was very tasty indeed. The staff/owner is very helpful and efficient.

Amazing modern rental house
Nice little bit of luxury at the end of a walk. Did not realise keys were accessible from cafe down the road...phoned and sent emails to Kumano Kodo Travel - they got back within half hour which was pretty good. Recommend making sure future renters are aware of key pickup location to avoid confusion (especially at end of big day's walk)

Like an Airbnb
Momiji-no-sato is similar to an Airbnb. It is a small home in the town. The food is nothing special but it is enough to get you through the day. It is relatively clean although there were some markings on the walls. The individuals who greet you and serve you breakfast are incredibly warm hearted and truly want to ensure that you have a good stay.

Great to have this whole space to ourselves after being in travel mode for weeks. Quiet, comfortable, well-supplied, spacious. Easy to do laundry, get re-organized, self-cater. Should have stayed an extra night just to kick-back. We showed up earlier than expected so this resulted in having a neighbor call the owner to let us in, which was an embarrassing and great inconvenience (sorry!). It might be good to have an easier or automated system to get into the house. Kumano Travel info about going to the nearby white house to see the owner for check-in is not clear.

Very good
Lovely accommodation. The only issue was that the hosts didn't expect us until after 1600 hrs but we didn't know that so they were slightly unprepared. Also, the accommodation had excellent cooking facilities but no utensils, plates etc. That seemed a little strange, but didn't affect us as we had meals provided by the hosts.

箸折茶屋の案内のおじさん、朝食をお世話してくれたおねえさん、皆さん気持ちよく対応してくれました。お部屋は快適でゆっくり休めました。ありがとうございました。また、中辺路の行程についてメールでアドバイスをいただきましたスタッフの方にもお礼申し上げます。空港から滝尻までタクシーを使い、10時少し前に歩き始めました。近露には4時前に到着しましたが、健脚コースでしたので、心構えと余裕をもって入ることが大切と思いました。

Modern house on the trail
At the end of the village and at the start of the continuation of the trail located modern house with a complete kitchen, separate bedroom and dining area. The reception is in a separate building, a café annex restaurant at about 800 meters from the house. Dinner was delivered in boxes at the house, but the warm items were lukewarm to cold so we had to heat them up.

Small-town Japanese hospitality at its finest
We loved this cozy, private house in the small mountain town of Chikatsuyu. It was a perfect place to spend the night after walking from Takijiri-oji before hiking on to Kumano Hongu Taisha and Yunomine Onsen the next day. We loved the beautiful hand-made dinner of traditional Japanese delights, as well as the breakfast at the Hashiori-jaya cafe. The host and the chef at Hashiori-jaya were so friendly and hospitable. We would happily stay here again!

Clean and new accommodation.
There was nothing poor about the accommodation. Compared to other stays we had however it lacked the charm of older properties and the interaction with the host. The food was fine, but clearly not as impressive what some other hosts had produced with all their heart and hospitality.

Great rental house for a 2 day treck from Takajiri
Great location in the beautiful mountain village. The rental house has everything you need, including washing machine. There is a great supermarket near by. The supper bento box was beautiful and very tasty.

Perfect place to stay in Chikatsuyu
This Minshuku is located right next to the Kumano Kodo trail. Check-in was very simple, the host was very nice, the dinner was excellent. There were even kimonos to wear after taking a shower. The village is very small but cute, there is a place to drink some tea and coffee and a foot onsen. The house is new, so everything is in great condition. We highly recommend this minshuku!

Beautiful, Private Place
This private home is basically brand new - it is in a beautiful spot right on the Kumano Kodo in town and we were able to watch the sun set from the window. There is a nice bathroom with a bath which was appreciated after a long hike. We felt as though the whole village took care of us - we arrived in the rain and were given tea, personally walked up to the home, and were fed a delicious bento box at night. In the morning we had one of the best breakfasts we've had in Japan at a cafe down the street before continuing our journey. We got very lucky with this home rental .. was one of our favorite experiences along the Kumano Kodo.

We had an excellent stay in the friendly village. The host was excellent. The bicycles were in good working order and we used them to ride to Kobiro-toge. It was a nice ride. The house was great. Very clean. The bathroom was excellent. Overall this place is highly recommended.

Fantastic stop off during hike
We had a lovely stay - staff are very kind and helpful. A whole house to ourselves was a real treat on our travels through Japan. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to spend time in a quiet, peaceful location along the hiking trail.
