Located right above a small cafe, the location was convenient, less than 5 min from the Kii-Katsuura train station. Although no meals were provided, there were many recommendations and options available. The apartment was very stylishly decorated. There was no central heating so it was a bit cold at night, but still comfortable. The single shower is downstairs so it might be a bit cold getting to the shower.

We tried to check in at the hostel where our bags had been delivered, and the woman was really rude. Eventually they realized we were staying at the apartment which is across the square, and the guy walked us over there. I had the information to check in at Why Kumano restaurant, but it didn’t show on google maps. Anyway once we’d checked in it was all lovely, with a NY loft conversion vibe. Heaps of space and modern. It was expensive though, especially with no meals included. We ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and it was really nice. The town is a fishing port and a little run-down in areas. There are relaxing foot baths down by the wharf. Location of the apartment was great for arriving off the bus from Nachi and for the train in the morning.
