 Description

Heartwarming Hospitality Stay in Chikatsuyu

Kodo-no-Miyako is a renovated guesthouse run by two sisters in the village of Chikatsuyu. It is located down the hill after visiting Gyuba-doji statue, just a 300-meter stroll along the road, off the trail. The owners have rediscovered the charm of rural living and the Kumano Kodo and after working with other local travel service businesses in the area, decided to open their inn to share homespun hospitality. The guesthouse was once Chikano Elementary School, and there is an occasionally operating karaoke bar on site. Whether guests are placed in the Japanese or Western-style room, either have beds with futon bedding, and the space is spacious and comfortable. The shared lounge area features instruments sometimes played by locals. Dinner is provided by the restaurant Nemunoki Shokudo featuring local ingredients, and lunch boxes by Chikatsuyu shop, Kissa Yumi. Kodo-no-Miyako is a great place to rest and relax in the tranquility of a peaceful, mountain village.

NOTE:
● Only children 7 and older are allowed. Thank you for your understanding.
● Chickens are raised in a shed on the nearby grounds.

Vegetarianism is not common in the Japanese countryside. Please double-check the Vegetarian Type which the service provider can accommodate to make sure that it meets your needs. Often being able to eat trace amounts of the ubiquitous Katsuo Dashi (fish stock) makes it easier to find options.
