The separate "Hanare" rooms of Fudo-in are hidden treasures of Koyasan and perfect for those searching for secluded spiritual luxury. 

The two rooms called "Zuiun 瑞雲" and "Shouun 翔雲" are located at the furthest point of the complex with splendid views onto the garden and forest beyond. These rooms have a private bath located next to them.

This private setting offers the meditative spirit a rare chance to immerse itself in a quiet, aesthetic corner of one of Japan's most sacred Buddhist retreats. Simply enchanting.

Meals are traditional, refined Buddhist vegetarian cuisine.  

Supper is served in the “Kuri 庫裡” building.  The tatami-lined rooms are separated with exquisite fusuma sliding doors decorated with traditional paintings.  Through the open sliding doors are views of a classic Japanese garden that is softly lit up in the evenings.

Breakfast is served in the atmospheric Shoin reading room building, dating from the Momoyama period (1573~1603).  The dark natural tones of the wood enhance the natural feel of traditional architecture.  The elegant Shoin reading room is registered as a designated cultural asset of Wakayama Prefecture.
