概要

親戚のおじさんの家に遊びに来たような1棟貸し切りのゲストハウス

熊野古道和歌山県田辺市本宮町伏拝に位置する1棟貸しのゲストハウスです。

大阪で教職に就いていたオーナーが、2012年に1週間滞在した熊野の自然に魅せられ、その後家族で移住。
まるで親戚のおじちゃんの家に遊びに来たような空間を提供したいという想いからオープンしたお宿です。

熊野三山のひとつ「熊野本宮大社」からバスで10分以内という好立地。
現在「素泊まりプラン」のみの販売ですが、徒歩3分以内にスーパーがあり食事を購入可能。

温もりと安心を感じられる杉の木を全面に利用した内装に加え、2階からは壮大な熊野川の絶景をご覧いただけます。

熊野古道小辺路にも面しており、中辺路を歩かれる方はもちろん、小辺路ウォークのお客様のご宿泊にもオススメ！
都会からのお客様、田舎暮らしに慣れているお客様、両方にご満足いただけるお宿です。

Terrible toilet, long walk from the kumano kodo path.

The lady in charge was very nice to us. However, the house seems to be and old warehouse or workshop reconverted into a guest house. It’s called shitanoie, the lower house, and for a good reason, it takes a long walking detour from the kumano kodo path downhill. The worst offender was the toilet, which doesn’t use running water but a kind of muddy earth in which you do your stuff and then use a lever to mix everything. Veeery smelly.

Great position

Slept super well listening to the sound of the river. Fabulous position, close to supermarket and bus stop. Best composting toilet I’ve ever seen

風呂に桶もなし、洗面台が30cm位なので、顔洗いにくかった。改善すれば、この価格なので満足します。

It works

The guest house is some 5km away from Hongu, which is great if you are finishing your day late and might not get to the shrine before they close, but can be an annoyance if you have to go back and forth. Also, there is nothing but a supermarket nearby. The room is a common room without curtains, so the sun will wake you up early in the morning. On the other hand, when I got there, there was nobody, so I unpacked and went to the supermarket, there the manager approached me and explained me the details.

Our Third Night stop on the Kumano - Team Ellis

This accommodation is slightly off the Kumano, but very easy to find and get back on the trek. We were greeted by the host and then left to our own devices. A lot of the facilities where in Japanese and a little time showing us the in and outs would have been preferred. The house was cold when we arrived. Perhaps getting the heating on for guests arriving would have been nice. After a short while the house warmed up. It has a compost toilet which is fine. A good tip, about 200m along from the house there is a big supermarket to store up on some much needed goodies. The breakfast was brought to us in the morning and the lunchbox was good. I would think best suited to larger groups, plenty of room! Good Wifi! Host was nice : )

No hair dryer in the guestroom, A little bit off the Nakahechi route but the owner is very friendly and helpful. The 2nd floor has a really good view of the river.

Disappointed.

Very disappointed. No one there to meet me. Never saw or met the owner. Food was take away that was dropped off. Overpriced and average. Toilet and bathrooms were terrible. I felt like this place was just trying to make money with minimal effort. Not a good experience and I wouldn’t recommend.
