Unique Restoration Project
Ichie is a cozy café and guesthouse in a quiet neighborhood around a 10-minute walk from the JR Kii-Tanabe station.
Originally a local store, the current owners have lovingly renovated the building preserving the original character. The front section is a café specializing in chiffon cakes (delicious!) and in the back are two traditional Japanese-style guestrooms complete with sliding paper doors and tatami mats. A small corridor looks onto a garden and links to communal toilet, bath and washing area.
There is also a Second Location nearby with guestrooms and free-use kitchen offered as one of the plans.
