Traditional wooden Machiya townhouses are often associated with Kyoto, but are actually found throughout Japan.  Konyamachiya is a pilot project for urban revitalization and the first restored Machiya townhouse in the region.  

This classic architectural style of housing is disappearing rapidly and Tanabe City is looking for unique ways to preserve them.  Some Machiya in Tanabe have been made into restaurants or art studios, and this is a first as an accommodation property.

Konyamachiya is available for only one group a day.  It is privately reserved and not shared with other guests.  Perfect for those who prefer to move at their own pace, such as families, or travelers who would like a base to tour from and/or relax in.

There are two sizes, Medium and Large. Please register size and number of yukata gowns wanted below.
NOTE: It is not possible to change sizes at check-in, but need to be specified beforehand.
Yukata are for the duration of your stay and are not changed.
Please leave them in the rental house when you check-out.
