Lovely family
Truly enjoyed my stay at the Mirai Noen Farm. The owner are very nice and we enjoyed via electronic translation a good conversation. The food was excellent and more than I could have asked for.

Awesome experience!
The owner is very accommodating and we had a very good time talking to each other. The meals are awesome and the fishing experience is exceptional. I thought it could be boring but turns out to be a fantastic experience to have. There are indeed fishes caught and they look stunning. If not for fishing, just a ride out the Tanabe Bay is already breathtaking. The place itself is also lovely and stylish. Definitely a good experience.

Absolutely Amazing Experience
This was really a unique and great experience, one of my favorite things that I did while in Japan. They met us at the train station, we had a phenomenal sashimi dinner and tried their home made plum wine. The father ended up playing guitar and singing as we discussed all kinds of topics (as best we could with a language barrier). In the morning we went on his boat which sadly was damaged during Typhoon Jebi. Truly a great experience!

Nice people, great food but the house condition is terrible
It would be tempting to give them a higher score because they are so nice and the food was great but I need to say it as it is: their house is messy, not clean and poorly maintained. There was a lot of dust under the bed, finger prints, random old personal things scattered about like, old shoes, a bottle of disinfectant or a can of oil- an ancient calendar, an old fax machine- holes in the rice paper walls. A view of their laundry describes my "farm stay experience"- which may be near a farm, but from what I saw, we were more near a non descript road. THEY NEED TO CLEAN THEIR HOUSE

As a homestay, Mirai Noen had a more lived-in feel than the Minshuku that I stayed in but was nevertheless very comfortable. Dinners with the family and other guest were enjoyable. Mirai Noen offers orchard visits and fishing outings that I was not able to take advantage of. Mirai Noen is a little out of the way for a visit to Tanabe but the hosts picked me up and dropped me off at the train station in Tanabe at very convenient times.

Friendly owner picked us up at the train station and took us to his home. My husband and two grown children shared a room with Japanese-style beds (futon on the floor). Simple, home-cooked food. Owner entertained us with his classical guitar. Spoke just enough English for us to understand each other. Next day, a one-hour boat trip on the harbor. A chance to see how an ordinary family lives.

Recommend Homestay but not the extras - Ocean Experience and Farm Stay
The Farm Stay consisted of being driven to the orchard and photographed picking a few persimmons and later a mandarin or two. I was hoping to actually help out a bit having had some experience picking and pack fruit. However, being taken to the family shrine and seeing some of the scenery was a bonus. I was also included in a family trip to an onsen in Shirahama which was appreciated.

Homestay great
The Ocean Experience was a little disappointing - a very pleasant boat ride (of only one hour) but really no contact with the fishing industry. However, family meal time was wonderful with different but delicious food and very interesting conversation.

An experience in the country side
The farm is a nice place in the country side.
Nice people. They speak a little bit of English. You had better know a little bit of Japanese.
However, they look a little overwhelmed by all their activities : the house is far from being clean
