KUMANO TRAVEL

 Description

Nachisan is the trailhead for the Ogumotori-goe section of the World Heritage pilgrimage route Kumano Kodo.  It is a full days walk to/from the village of Koguchi from here.  The walk features long climbs and descents and requires preparation, it is not for the casual walker.

Staying at Mitaki Sanso allows visitors to enjoy the serenity of this sacred site during the less busy periods in the morning and evening.  Meditating in this beautiful natural environment, as pilgrims have been doing for over 1000 years, is a unique chance to touch the soul of Japan’s spiritual origins.

This price plan includes supper, breakfast, and lunch box which is very convenient and recommended for walkers.

From May 1 to September 30, out of concern for the safety of guests and due to the increased potential of food poisoning during summer, the lunch bento box plan will not be available.
