Description
270-year-old Farmhouse
This old farmhouse hopes to be a place where pilgrims walking the Kumano Kodo can rest and prepare for the next day’s journey. Located in the quiet village of Koguchi, between the Ogumotori-goe and Kogumotori-goe sections, it occupies a 270-year-old former headman’s residence (whose name was Nakamura) that has been lovingly restored into a warm and welcoming inn. The original beams, earthen walls, and spacious grounds with a Japanese garden and storehouse preserve the atmosphere of centuries past.
With only one booking per day, guests can enjoy complete privacy and relax at their own pace. There are three guestrooms, so people travelling together in a small group is also an option.
Supper is bento-style delivered to the inn, breakfast is simple self-serve, and lunch box.

FISH STOCK: Often being able to eat trace amounts of the ubiquitous Katsuo Dashi (fish stock) makes it easier to find vegetarian options.
GLUTEN: For those who are not intorelant to gluten or Celiac then choosing Gluten Free "With Miso and Soy Sauce" will increase your options.
NOTE: It is difficult and not culturally sensitive to change meal requests, or make new meal demands, onsite when you arrive at accommodations. Meal options must be confirmed during the reservation process and respected during your visit.
