Warm welcome from Kumi & Haru!
Kumi is such a kind welcoming soul and it was a pleasure to stay at her guesthouse with her pet goat Haru. The guesthouse is short walk past the Toganoki-jaya Teahouse and Hidehira-valued cherry tree. The rooms are spacious and clean, and free hot drinks are provided. Kumi is an excellent cook - dinner, breakfast and the packed lunch were all delicious. She is also a dual pilgrim and will ensure you are well prepared for your next day on the Kumano Kodo - helping you plan to walk the full/highlight routes or use the local bus, pointing out changes with the detours and route, and recommending grocery stores, restaurant and bus routes in Hongu to get to your next night’s accommodations (take her bakery recommendations!!). If you have any questions, you can easily reach her via WhatsApp. Her friendly goat Haru will show you all his tricks before you leave.

Great Experience
We had a wonderful stay at the guesthouse. She was so kind and lovely & and gave us some great advice for the trail. The goat Haru was great as well :). She cooked us an amazing dinner and breakfast. Everything was self made and tasted insanely good.

滝尻王子と熊野本宮大社のちょうど中間に位置する好立地の宿で、熊野古道を歩く旅の拠点として非常に便利な宿でした。到着時には、旅行プランの相談や熊野古道の歩き方について丁寧にアドバイスをいただき、大変心強く感じました。夕食は手の込んだ料理が並び、一皿一皿に工夫が感じられる内容で、歩き疲れた身体にしみわたる満足度の高い食事でした。立地・サポート・食事のどれも期待以上で、熊野古道を歩く方に自信を持っておすすめできる宿です。

it was very cozy stay
The owner is the kindest! after long day of hiking, she welcomed me most kindly. She prepares very generous and delicious meals! We chatted over dinner for a long time, and it was fun! The next day, she even gave us a ride in her car to start the second day of hiking without worrying about reaching the next destination in time~ and ofcourse haru chan the goat outside the guest house is part of the experience~ overall it was a very pleasant experience, even though it is expensive it is worth it.

We loved our stay here. This was our favourite place to stay on our trip. Our host was so friendly and kind. You could tell that she made all of her food with love. The village was very peaceful, and the goat was really cute. I would highly recommend.
