Excellent experience
This was the highlight of our trip. We arrived early and host let us check-in right away. The house was quiet and had a peaceful setting with luscious gardens. The beds were comfortable and fridge stocked with beverages. The bathroom even had a soaker bath tub. We even watched Netflix on the big screen TV. The location is great as it is close to the bus stop and the grocery store. Dinner was a total gourmet experience. We loved the presentation, the variety of fresh garden vegetables, and the care and attention to detail. The host was so gracious to explain all the different Japanese dishes as most of them were new to us. Breakfast was another special treat. We ate at the small adjoining restaurant and enjoyed fresh coffee, Japanese and Western dishes. There was even a toaster oven on the table to toast the fresh bread. Marvelous! The bento box for lunch on the trail was also exquisitely prepared. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Kumano Kodo Travel: please include this guesthouse on your Nakahechi Map. We had some problems finding this location as it didn't show up on Google Maps either.

Shinzuke and his grandma went above and beyond as hosts. The house was spotless, the food was amazing, the beds were comfortable and they were overall the sweetest and kindest hosts we could have wished for. The drying room function (not a dryer) was an amazing plus, as it made it possible for us to wash and dry things that couldn’t go in an dryer but wouldn’t have had time to air-dry. We would stay again in a heartbeat. THANK YOU for having us!
