One-of-a-kind hideaway
The owners have a whole backstory to this rental house, and that was interesting, but more interesting was the sort of organic and earth-friendly lifestyle they let us live for a night at this house. Hosts were very, very kind, and they actually gave us some home-cooked dishes to make our New Years Day special (otherwise we would've been eating convenience store food). The bedding and amenities were nice and comfortable. It was 1 minute to the Kamikura Shrine, which is a must-see.

The bedding and amenities were nice and comfortable. I got to sleep in a Harry Potter type under-the-stairs nook (by choice, I moved the bedding there) which totally made my day.

Beautiful renovated grandmother’s home & wonderful host
Modern interior & very comfortable - amazing host Titsuji who gave us great advice about getting around in Shinghu. He took us to the train station & he & his partner helped us out when we needed it. Fantastic couple.

Unique and magic experience.
Kamikura Hideaway was a nice discovery experience and a quiet stay. The house is cute and full of details, books to read, and a nice welcome from Mr. Testuji. I enjoyed having a coffee in the morning on the terrace, looking for the sunrise in this peculiar and picturesque neighborhood. The location is great. It was a wonderful stay.
