Lovely place with the sweetest people!
The facilities were clean. The location is great and very near to the river. You can actually hear the river from your rooms. But the BEST thing about the place is the hosts - they are the SWEETEST people and I was very touched by their hospitality.

わがままですが部屋内に冷蔵庫があると非常に助かりました。周囲に食べる物を購入できる場所がほぼない中、宿には本当に助かりました。海外の方ばかりでなく、国内の方にも熊野古道の良さが伝わるといいですね。

Koguchi Shizen-no-Ie
A truly unique place but we don't want to spoil too much so future travelers can be surprised! It feels like being in an international hippie spot right in the heart of remote Japan. Simply awesome. The hosts are warm and welcoming, always happy to chat with guests. The meals were delicious and generous.

This is more of a hostel than a hotel. There is a campground at the entrance of the hotel. My wife was freaked out because she saw bugs on the floor of the room we were staying in. Because of the insects she was afraid to sleep on the floor of the room in the prepared mattress to sleep on.
