Warm and homely stay!
My stay at Kumano Hagi Matsumiya was fantastic. The hosts provided a wonderful stay that felt as if I was experiencing a little slice of Japanese culture in its best form. The meal and accommodation I will never forget.

This is a charming and historic ryokan; it's a fascinating building and we loved our traditional room! Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful, we had a lovely stay!

very friendly
Although we didn't send a message they picked us up at the busstation spontaneously. Now that's service! After drinking nice macha, the bath was prepared and ready. Again what a service. Lovely dinner and breakfast.

host was the sweetest grandpa who: - drove us to nearby onsen town for onsen - provided fantastic spread of food for dinner - gave us some free sake to try - made sure we caught our bus despite it being rushed this is Japanese hospitality at its finest

A Truly Authentic Japanese Experience
I had a wonderful stay with this kind elderly couple who go above and beyond to provide an authentic Japanese experience filled with traditions and hospitality. Since the accommodation is not directly on the route, they kindly picked me up at the agreed location and ensured I was dropped off exactly where I needed to be the next day. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed with a traditional tea ceremony, and a hot bath was already prepared for me to relax. The meals were plentiful and delicious, and the breakfast the next morning was just as satisfying. If you are looking for an authentic Japanese stay, this is definitely a place to consider!
