Great Ryokan
I may have liked the Yunomine slightly more than the Manseiro in Katsuura. But the onsen, visually, is stunning here.

The automated check in / out was ridiculous as it was done by a person. Weird. They asked us at the last minute (or rather Kumano Travel did) to move room. We booked months in advance so why were we asked to move from western to Japanese room for someone else? Really annoying - they should've just said they only had Japanese rooms. I complained and we got the Japanese room. Shouldn't have happened.

Great hotel!
Very nice hotel with a good location near the Kii Katsuura train station. Staff were all very helpful, Dinner and Breakfast were traditional japanese meals which were extremely delicious and beautiful to look at. Room was also nice, if not a bit plain/dated. Traditional japanese tatami room with futon, full japanese shower+bathtub combo and toilet included. Public baths were clean and very cool to look at, there was a tiled indoor and a "natural" rocky outdoor one. A salt water bath as well, which is a first for me but makes sense given the proximity to the ocean (explains the white precipitate floating in the baths) Overall the hotel was well kept, clean, and had very nice facilities with not very many signs of aging.

Lovely hotel centrally located
Only 5-10 minutes walk from the Train Station (and only 5 mins walk from the bus station) this Hotel was very comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was both excellent and plentiful
