Absolute bliss
We arrived at Minshuku Kuraya during a typhoon and were the only ones staying there. Had a private onsen bath, and a home cooked meal that was the best we’ve had in Japan. The house was beautiful in the traditional style, and the couple running it were so friendly and welcoming. They dried all our gear including using the onsen steam to dry our shoes! Would absolutely love to come back here again.

夕食、朝食ともにおいしくいただきました。お風呂は外湯でしたが風情があり、いいお湯でした。建物自体もちろん古いのですが、トイレは様式でウオッシュレットもついており、いろいろ配慮されていました。

民宿の方の対応、部屋・アメニティー全般良いものであった。食事についても疲れた後であったが、美味しくいただいた。 予定より１時間近く遅れて大社に到着したものの、電話したところ迎えに来ていただき大変助かった。 極めて満足している。宿のご夫妻に御礼を言いたい。

Highly Recommend!
Minshuku Kuraya is conveniently located in central Yunonine Onsen, very close to the the Tsubo-yu Baths and the Kumano Kodo trail. There are only 3 japanese style rooms, with a shared bathroom; the shower areas are located outside in a private onsen. The private onsen is a real luxury. The rooms are small but very comfortable, with sufficient space for two people. The dinner and breakfast are wonderful examples of quality kaiseki, with beautiful presentation and restaurant quality food. I would highly recommend this location for the traveler seeking an authentic experience in a small carefully managed accommodation, who values onsens and excellent local foods.

Old style charm
This lovely small guest house is run by a delightful older couple. They don’t speak much English, but it is easy to make yourself understood. The rooms are traditional Japanese style with tatami mats and the bathrooms are shared (though you can request a private period in the onsen). The meals were exceptional, beautifully prepared and presented. Recommended for those who want to experience a slice of real Japanese culture.

United States (solo traveler male)
I enjoyed the stay. The hosts prepared very delicate and delicious dinner and breakfast. The guesthouse also provided onsen bath like a private onsen bath; I had relaxing onsen here too. the guesthouse is just steps away from bus stop.
