Great place to stay
The room smelled like smoke, but the location and food made up for it. There can be a long wait for the private bathroom. Food is great. Great place to end a long adventure.

OK for one night
The staff was super friendly and helpful, the location right next to the river onsen is great, the accomodation itself is showing its age. The shared bath and inside onsen were really small and not taken care off well. The meals were beautifully presented but not much of our taste.

Great Minshuku Experience
This hotel is a great traditional Japanese experience. We really enjoyed the supper, breakfast, and bento boxes, which exposed us to vegetables, pickles, grilled fish, and other foods we didn't otherwise eat in 2 weeks in Japan. The traditional baths were nice, and it was fun to wear komons to dinner. The staff are extremely kind and diligent. Highly recommended!

Como em casa!
A guesthouse fica na frente do rio e de um onsen público. Chegar de uma caminhada e nadar no rio foi maravilhoso. Dormir com o som do rio foi melhor ainda. As cores do céu no final de tarde e do amanhecer, impressionantes. A estrutura é mais antiga, o quarto precisava de um pouco mais de ventilação. Mas bastou deixar a janela aberta com o ar circulando pra resolver. A hospitalidade da equipe, o carinho e atenção da dona da guest house, o gato Yamato e a qualiade das refeições (todas abundantes e deliciosas) compensaram! A parade de ônibus fica praticamente na frente, o que facilita muito alguns deslocamentos antes e depois da trilha. Fantástico. Já estou com saudades.

Sleeping to the sound of the river was even better. The colors of the sky at dusk and dawn were breathtaking. The building is older, and the room could have used a little more ventilation. The staff’s hospitality, the warmth and attention from the guesthouse owner, Yamato the cat, and the quality of the meals (all plentiful and delicious) more than made up for it! The bus stop is practically right in front, which makes getting around before and after the hike much easier. Fantastic. I already miss it.

Very friendly hotel
We loved our stay here. The food was awesome and the staff very friendly. We also loved the public onsen on the river. Not a lot of restaurants in the area so we recommend booking meals with this hotel.

Friendly, clean, great food and lovely onsen
Such a beautiful area with natural hot pools in the river across from the accommodation. The room was clean, staff were welcoming, food was lovely and the onsen was relaxing.

Unique and welcoming
We absolutely loved staying at Omuraya. We were immersed in more traditional Japanese hospitality from wearing yukatas, using an onsen, to deciphering complex dishes with unknown ingredients - all new to us during our first visit to Japan. The staff were welcoming, helpful, and very friendly though neither of us spoke each other's language. The river onsen was a highlight that we cannot recommend enough.
