Minshuku Omuraya Review
Minshuku Omuraya was an outstanding location to stay during our Kumano Kodo trek. Right next to the Oto river and an outdoor onsen, this was such a serene and peaceful place to spend the night. The food was amazing with a great variety of dishes, and filled us up for our long hiking day. They also have a very cute puppy and kitty waiting to greet you as you enter the Minshuku to check in! Private and public onsens are available within the facility, which was a great introduction to Japanese onsen culture. I would highly recommend this Minshuku if you are unable to get an overnight accommodation in Yunomine Onsen town.

Great location and great food
The location was perfect, just a few minutes from the bus stop. The foods were excellent! We had a wonderful time enjoying tasty dinner of traditional Japanese food after a long hike. The staffs in the dining room were very nice & friendly. The 'homemade' plum wine was good. The bath was tricky because you had to wait in the sitting room in your bath robe/kimono for the onsen to be available. If you left (need to go to the bathroom for example) then you lost your place. Maybe a signup list can help? Our guestroom smelled like mold, we had to open the windows so we could sleep, but my friend still cough a lot unfortunately. One of the blankets had some bad stain so we didn't use it. If you have asthma etc or sensitive to mold, I'd suggest to check the room before you settled in.

Hot springs and happiness
The hot springs, the hot spring baths and the views are only part of what made this amazing. The river, and the food are why we can’t wait to go back. The food was mind blowing. I am planning a whole new trip just to experience more of this region.
