Quiet Relaxing Onsen Stay
I had a very relaxing and pleasant stay at Minshuku Tateishi. The owner was very nice and welcoming. Meals were homemade, copious and very good, with local fish and vegetables. The indoor batch was quite spacious for a couple people and there is a outdoor onsen on the river bank. As with most of the accommodation in the region, don't expect brand new modern hotels and spas, but get the charm of historic buildings taking you back to a quieter time.

Amazing place to stay
The location is fantastic, just next to the river and the amazing outdoor onsen. The hosts were very friendly and the food excellent.

Minshuku Tateishi | Supper & Breakfast
Super friendly hosts running a cosy, busy family-owned minshuku. Great to see the whole family pitching in to run the guest-house, and all the guests being respectful and considerate. We loved the clean private onsen as well as the incredible river pools and public onsen just outside. The walls are thin throughout the guest-house so it can be a bit noisy at times but this is expected in buildings of this type. Dinner was excellent, a real feast with lots of exciting dishes, and the breakfast was great too. Proper kaiseki! The host was kind enough to drive us to Hongu in the morning since the buses did not line up well with our schedule. We really appreciated the hospitality and wish the hosts all the best.

Wonderful, authentic
Cozy & spotless country inn with delicious food and onsen facilities perfect after a day of hiking. Bring earplugs. Don't expect 5* comfort but that is precisely the point - wonderful guesthouse to experience rural Japan.

Our hosts were very welcoming and made us feel at home right away. Would definitely recommend this spot. The onsen by the river was incredible.

THE BEST PLACE TO STAY IN KAWAYU ONSEN
WE TRUELY ENJOYED OUR STAY AT MINSUKU TATESHI. THE LOCATION IS EXCELLENT, RIVER FRONT, CLOSE TO HOT SPING. THE PLACE IS CLEAN. THE STAFFS ARE FRIENDLY AND HLEPFUL. THE FOOD IS THE BEST. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA.
