A great end of our Kumano Kodo experience
We were warmly welcomed at Mitaki Sanso. It’s a very modest accommodation, but well maintained. The toilets are shared, but they are very clean and definitely not an issue. The onsen is quite small but charming, and the dinner was simple yet carefully prepared. The free ice cream after dinner was absolutely appreciated! The only downside is the lack of a place to hang and dry wet trekking gear.

Great Location
It is smacked right in Nachisan. Limited accommodation there so you actually have to pay a premium. We arrived on a rainy day and they took good care of us. Provided towels and warm tea at the reception. The room is a little small. The meals were great (bento boxes) and free ice cream at the reception. The staff were very friendly

Great location, food was OK very Japanese based and no Western alternatives. Rooms were fine and baths small but good.

I had confirmed a 2F/3F room with view of falls but when I checked in I did not receive it, only a 1F room with no view.

Close to the waterfall
The guestroom was small but very comfortable. The shared bathrooms clean and close to the room. The onsen was lovely after a long day of walking. The dinner appeared to be cooked off site and packaged - I am not sure why this was. The staff were lovely and very helpful.

Location and staff can't be beat
The location is close to the temple. The onsen is clean. The staff are very kind. The hotel is a bit more commercial than the others on the trail making meals a bit less special as they're served on disposable plastic trays. All you can eat ice cream makes up for it.
