Convenient location
Nicely renovated old japanese house. Perfect location for kumano kodo, no detour for accommodation, which makes it very helpful. The shower was a little inconvenient, being outside, but it was nice that they had laundry machine. The drying machine though, didn.t manage to fully dry our clothes in 3h. The food was nice and it was convenient to have it pre-delivered for breakfast time flexibility, but a warm dinner would.ve been more appropriate instead of a microwave heated meal. What created the most nuisance was the checkin method. The QR codes for both checkin and checkout don.t work. When was assisted by videocall to fulfil the checkin, the operator was very insistent on providing the passport on the spot. Although it was quite visible that we were soaked and we tried to explain that we hiked all day in torrential rain and our passports were somewhere at the bottom of our backpacks in order to avoid getting wet and we will provide all the necessary paper after we shower, we were not able to get the passcode of the accommodation until we provided the passport copies. They definitely need to change the checkin method, as a lot or people (japanese and foreigners) are complaining about it.

We stayed at this accommodation for one night after our third day of hiking. The house itself is lovely, but the shower is external to the main house. We had technical difficulties with both checking in to the accommodation and checking out, and had to contact the assistance option. When booking this accommodation we highlighted a vegetarian dietary requirement for one person. I would not recommend this accommodation for a vegetarian. My dinner was a frozen meal, it was unpleasant. My bento box for the next day was a frozen sandwich that required microwaving to prepare to eat. This is entirely impractical for the Kumano Kodo and it was very disappointing to receive microwave meals after such wonderful meals elsewhere. The non dietary requirement meals were fine.

SEN-HAVEN SAKURAI
清潔な古民家でしたが、改善点は少しあるかと思います。 まず、早目のチェックインでサポートデスクへ電話をしたのですが日本語があまりお上手な方ではなかったので、こちらが英語を使わせて頂いた場面もありました。日本人の宿泊は想定されていないのでしょうか。お部屋とお風呂に鏡がありませんでした。洗面所に一つです。不便です。お風呂は自動でお湯が溜まるのですか?マニュアルなどがはっきり掲示してあれば良かったです。食事はインスタントのみそ汁かスープが付いていたほうが良いです、揚げ物メインで殺伐としているので。イチゴが入っていましたがお大きいだけで美味しくありませんでした。お弁当のパン類も美味しくありません。朝食のパンは温めたら美味しかったです。
