Great Choice at this Location
Whilst 30 mins drive from the trail via complimentary bus due to limited accommodation at Koguchi, the journey down the river valley was very scenic and enjoyable. Only minor issue was finding a public phone because our sim cards were data only. We had a comfortable room with a beautiful sakura tree in full blossom right outside the window. The outdoor onsen was excellent. Meals were delicious and just the right amount. A good choice at this stage of the walk. Thank you!

Takada Green Land Review
This was a great escape from the bustle of the Kumano Kodo trail! In order to reach Takada Green Land you need to call the office between 3-5pm and have a shuttle come pick you up at the designated location on the trail. It was a beautiful 30 min drive, but a bit farther away from the trail than I was hoping for. Once you arrive at the hotel, they have a variety of amenities for guests to enjoy including snacks, vending machines, a manga library, large dining area, and a public indoor and beautiful outdoor onsen. The onsen was an amazing experience with large indoor pools, and a more natural outdoor pool that overlooks the surrounding forest and river. The food was enjoyable, and the bento provided for us was an interesting mix of European and Japanese foods. This facility looks like it is also used for large gatherings and conferences, but when we stayed it felt very empty which was nice. If you are ok with stepping away from the Kumano Kodo trail I would highly recommend staying the night at Takada Green Land.

Nice venue, onsen and food
The place was good, the onsen (interior and exterior) really good and the food was amazing. The only thing that was a little weird was the servers during dinner and breakfast, they seem a little bit rude. If not, the people at the reception were really nice. Good experience over all, would recommend!

Beautiful stay in the bush
I was worried that Takada Greenland was so far off the Kumano trail, but they made it so easy! In fact, the bus ride was beautiful and meant we got to see even more of the region. The place was right next to a river with a waterfall, with an onsen overlooking both of these. The traditional Japanese style rooms were great and the meals were delicious, especially our packed lunch which we very much enjoyed on the walk the next day! Thank you for having us!

Refreshing and uncomplicated
I stayed at Takada Green Land during my Nakahechi Hike on Kumano Kodo and was delighted by the swift and easy routine procedures like picking us up at Koguchi, explaining the establishment and preparing dinner for the large amount of people staying there. I particularly enjoyed the hot springs, Manga reading area and free laundry room, making it very restful and comfortable.
