Explore Shingu by bike

Located right next to the Grand Kumano Hayatama Taisha Shrine, the Yuzu Guesthouse is a short walk to Asuka-Jinja, the Shingu Castle Ruins, the train station, grocery stores, and restaurants. After visiting the Hayatama Taisha, I borrowed one of the free bicycles and biked over to Kamijura-jinja shrine and Gotobiki-iwa Rock, Koyazaka Slope and the beach. The owner has thoughtfully provided helmets, locks and even a secure mount on each bike to hold your phone when navigating. The house is beautifully decorated and even has a portable shrine on display and photos of the local fire festival. The bed, washroom, bath and rooms were clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked, and there were free hot drinks, snacks and shaved ice provided. My only regret is not staying an extra day to explore the traditional boat tour.
