Lovely Guesthouse in Takahara

Hatago Masara is refurbished 60 years old home in the Takahara settlement near the Takahara Kumano-jinja shrine along the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route. 
Hatago is the traditional name for pilgrim's inn. The owner is Japanese and his wife is French.

There are two guestrooms and dining area.  The facilities are shared amongst guests. 

Please enjoy your stay at Hatago Masara with the sacred mountains of Kumano as your backdrop.

    The accommodation is in Takahara settlement near the Takahara Kumano-jinja shrine. There is no bus service directly to the settlement.

    The nearest bus stop is in Kurisugawa.

    Busses run daily to Kurisugawa from Kii-Tanabe Station and Hongu.
    ● ~40 minutes by bus from Kii-Tanabe Station to Kurisugawa (bus timetable 1).
    ● ~1 hour 10 minutes by bus from Hongu to Kurisugawa (bus timetable 2).
    ● ~30 minute walk from "Kurisugawa 栗栖川" bus stop.
    ● ~2 hour walk from Takijiri-oji on the Kumano Kodo.
