We liked it
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The location is on a short distance from Hayatama Taisha Shrine. The breakfast buffet is Japanese but you can easily find something to eat, if you are used with the western style.

Good Place to Stay
The hotel is locate very closed to most of attractions and local restaurants in Shingu. The registration counter in is on the 3rd FL which made it a little hard to find.

Good location, great service.
Just down the road from many of what Shingu has to offer, walking distance from shopping, Hayatama Taisha, and other historical spots. Also close to the local market so you can pick up any provisions you might need. It's also a few blocks from the JR station, so if this is your last day of the Kumano, you can hop a train back to Osaka just down the road.
The beds were a bit firm for my preference, but if that's what you like, this place will be perfect.
There is a spot on site that offers breakfast, and possibly dinner, but I didn't take advantage of the dinner. The breakfast was a buffet with many great options.

A Convenient Location with a Delicious Breakfast Buffet
We took the afternoon River Boat ride and was sweetly serenaded by our guide with music as she played the flute and sang songs. By the time we reached the Kumano Hayatama Taisha shrine it rained hard and poured but luckily the hotel was a short walk from the shrine and the bus station, too. The rooms were spacious to fit 4-5 people, but the air condition did not work well in the other room that they mentioned they were uncomfortably warm during the night. We were all very pleased with the breakfast buffet and the variety of food that was offered. We left the hotel with happy bellies.

It's fine
The rooms wer small and basic which are fine. My real issue was with the sheets. They were not comfortable. In fact, I moved to quickly and gave my self a 'rug' burn on my elbow. The people at the front desk were very nice however.

大浴場あり
古道旅の最終日に利用させていただきました。
大浴場で体を癒され、無料のマッサージチェアでほぐされました。
唯一、天井からの水漏れの音がしていたのが気になって眠りを妨げられたのが残念でした(気づいたのが夜中だったので申し出られなかった)。
それ以外は問題のないビジネスホテルでした。

Great location
Newish Hotel in a great location. Close to the castle ruins and with plenty of restaurants nearby. My double room was small but had everything I needed. Breakfast was excellent. Great onsen.

Hotel new palace

駅チカ速玉神社徒歩圏内!!
ホテルは駅から徒歩5分。バスの中からホテルが見えたのでとても分かりやすい。真裏はスーパーなので夕食の買い出しも便利です。早めに着いて荷物だけ預けて身軽に速玉神社や神倉神社を参拝できました。その後大浴場と無料のマッサージ機でゆっくり疲れを癒しました。勿論、部屋も綺麗でした。部屋の入り口で靴を脱ぐタイプだったので清潔感があります。朝食は和食洋食種類も豊富で満足です。時間がなく、今回は自分のテーブルで卵や野菜を焼くことはできませんでしたが、是非次回は試したいです。

Poor reception and service, the rest is OK
The location is great.
The room was OK, though the smell was a bit funny.
However, the reception was not good. Although I introduced myself in Japanese, the reception clerk simply replied "Passport". My girlfriend, although Japanese, also had to show her passport for some reason.
We were provided with 2 room cards, but only one of them was actually working.
Finally, there was no seats in the laundry room (or near it), so I had to go back and forth between my room and the laundry room.

Comfortable and convenient to the train station
This hotel was just fine. My room was quiet, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom more than adequate with added amenities. The breakfast buffet was adequate and seemed on par with other hotels.
