Vegestay Nonaka, opening February 2026, is a small, welcoming guesthouse in Nonaka specializing in vegetarian cuisine. It is located about 40 minutes from Chikatsuyu-oji, and close to the Kokudo Kasamatsu bus stop on National Road 311. There are two Japanese rooms with futon and one western-style room with bunk beds. Each room features premium Koala mattresses from Australia. The spacious dining area converted from a garage is the heart of the guesthouse, and a cozy living room is a communal place where guests can gather, share meals together and connect. Surrounded by mountains and fields, Vegestay Nonaka offers a tranquil retreat from everyday life. The English-speaking owner has extensive knowledge of the Kumano Kodo and is delighted to share insights and recommendations to enrich your journey.
