The accommodation with supper were varied and comfortable. The hosts at each location were extremely attentive and pleasant. Our luggage was also forwarded efficiently. The Kumano Kodo was a truly lovely trek. We chose the 5-day version (with no boat ride). After walking the Camino, I was surprised at how little progress we made each day, due to the almost constant elevation changes, and because it's mostly over stone steps and/or tree roots. Anyway, Kumano Travel arranged very appropriate stages (even though they seem quite short by Camino standards). After several rainy days in Japan, our Komano weather was ideal; in rain, it might be fairly trecherous, even with good rainproof hikers. The lodgings were uneven quality, but nothing was unacceptable, and our final night at Nanki-Katsuura Kyukamura Hotel, National Park Resort was a fabulous ending!
