Good location in Shingu

This is as close to Kumano Hayatama Taisha as you can get. There is not much in way of restaurants nearby, and the accommodations did not have a person to greet me when I arrived, but it was easy to self-check in and you can walk around Shingu very easily to reach places to eat.

Overall a good place for a trip

Their guest rooms are a bit small in space, but they are quite well-equipped. The facilities in the entire house are very complete, including a toilet and two different bathrooms, a kitchen and a living room. The kitchen facilities are very rich. You can use many things, including a refrigerator and a small oven. It will also provide usable tableware as well as some bottled water and fruits. The surrounding location is very close to Kumano Sumitama Taisha, making it a great place to go out for a visit in the morning. However, the nearest convenience store is about a 10-minute walk away, and there are few restaurants. It is recommended to buy food or have a meal at a restaurant before arriving. It is a completely self-service check in and check out. Overall, it is very convenient and the operation method will be informed in advance in chat.

Lovely guest house/hostel

Beautiful hostel - with lots of character (care and attention shown). well equipped kitchen and bathrooms. Great location in Shingu - right across from the shrines. The hostel is very clean and comfortable and recommend.

Great Proximity to Kumano Hayatama Taisha

I think this guest house might be the closest you can stay to a grand shrine out of any accomodation - it is adjacent to the Kumano Hayatama Taisha parking lot. Since some may choose to hike the popular southern alternative of the Nakahechi route that terminates at Kumano Nachi Taisha, this makes it an ideal place to stay if you wish to see the entire trinity of the Kumano Sanzan. Shingu is a decently sized city that is accessible by bus and train to other spots on the route - it is entirely feasible to spend a day seeing Hayatama Taisha and exploring Shingu before taking a bus back to your last hiking spot. The guesthouse itself was amazing - we stayed on the second floor, which has two room accommodation for two different guests. There is a very spacious communal kitchen eating downstairs and spotless bath area, with a laundry unit if you wish to wash some clothes from the trail. The whole guest house also smelled amazing - a hardwood scent permeates that is very nostalgic. Shingu itself has a million food options, each of them better than the last.
