A wonderful oasis
We had a lovely stay here and would stay again. Jian-san and his staff were fantastic, and the onsen (using water from Watarase Onsen) was absolutely wonderful. The meals were amazing, too - featuring local produce and fish. And Jian went out of his way to make everyone feel welcome. Don't hesitate to book here!

5 stars all around
This place was a delight. We showed up unreasonably early for check-in and yet were welcomed warmly and efficiently shown to a room already prepared. We hit the bath with lovely forest views, dried our clothes in the room, and popped out for a 5-star dinner – the hot pot was particularly notable. The next morning breakfast was ready early, coffee was delicious, and we hit the trail fully refreshed. Most notably, the staff were as kind and helpful as you could hope to find. Five stars all around.

Great stay!
Such a lovely stay here, great hosts and food. Wonderful view from the rooms, which are well appointed and traditional. Enjoyed the public onsen.

Priceless experience
This place was amazing. The host Ja was so kind and could not do enough for us. He also kindly played his guitar for us during the meal. The meal was a banquet with so much attention to detail. The view in the morning was stunning and the onsen was just amazing. Ja and Sage took a lovely selfie with our group before we departed. We enjoyed this accommodation the most.

A fantastic place
Kiri-no-Sato is a little paradise. It is located absolutely fantastic, you feel at one with nature. The owner of the lodge makes you feel at home. The food is absolutely fantastic and tastes super good. I would give the place all the stars in the sky

Great First Night on the Nakahechi
A wonderful first night on the trail. We had a warm reception, and the service at both dinner and breakfast was equally warm. The inn is spotless, and our room was spacious and comfortable, with a beautiful view - we slept very well. The hojicha latte at breakfast was so delicious I still dream about it. The onsen was hot and great, though the showers in the onsen area ran cool. We would happily stay again.

Amazing highlight of our trip
What an experience , wonderful hosts and absolutely beautiful place to stay. Highly recommend. Our favourite on the trek . Views were amazing and the food 🙌. Very accommodating, warm and friendly . 10 stars
