The location is very outside to the important areas and onsens. But the room is so nice and beautiful so you will stay there anyway. They have a shuttel.

Excellent traditional stay.
We loved staying at Hagi Matsumiya and cannot thank the owners enough for the shuttle service and attentiveness to our needs. Fantastic bath and very enjoyable evening meal. Recommend highly!

Beyond my expectations on all food , breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Warm and homely stay!
My stay at Kumano Hagi Matsumiya was fantastic. The hosts provided a wonderful stay that felt as if I was experiencing a little slice of Japanese culture in its best form. The meal and accommodation I will never forget.

This is a charming and historic ryokan; it's a fascinating building and we loved our traditional room! Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful, we had a lovely stay!

Although we didn't send a message they picked us up at the busstation spontaneously. Now that's service! After drinking nice macha, the bath was prepared and ready. Again what a service. Lovely dinner and breakfast.
