Absolutely excellent
Wow what a place. Perfect location, on the main road by a bus stop, right next to the biggest Torii gate. Glorious terrace view of the gate with chairs (and protected from the rain). A huge modern house, warm & very functional and comfortable. Hybrid western comfort and Japanese style. Fabulous kitchen with wonderful chairs & the most beautiful big table - we cooked for ourselves both days. Great utility room with washing machine. Lounge with comfortable chairs too. So many Japanese houses have zero "tall Western chairs". This place has 11. Excellent value. Have a rest day, and go to Watarese on the bus for a private onsen.

A beautiful stay
Our stay at Villa Kumano was one of the highlights from our trip to Japan and time on the Kumano Kodo. The house is beautiful and meticulously maintained, our meals were delicious and we especially enjoyed the patio with views of the rice fields and Torii gate. This stay is well worth the cost and very well located. The host was also very responsive and communicative.

Very accessible to walk from the Hongu Taisha temple. The whole apartment was ours to use. So lots of space to move around. The food arrangements were exceptionally good!

An entire house for us
We didn't expect to find an entire house just for us, with all the comforts and desirable privacy. Beautiful and meticulously maintained villa. Congratulations on the cleanliness.
