Our best stay in Japan
From the pickup by Jon to the spectacular dinner prepared by Hiromi, everything was simply perfect. We enjoyed great, fun conversations, a beautiful house and surroundings, and amazing food. We can honestly say it was our best Japanese experience yet. Hope to be back!

Best stay of our Japan trip
Absolutely the best stay of our entire trip to Japan. It wasn’t just a pleasant place to stay; it was a unique, authentic experience—a memory from our travels that will stay with us forever! Jon and Hiromi were incredibly warm and welcoming. We felt right at home from the very first moment. The food is wonderful, the accommodation is fantastic, but above all: two authentic people with a passion for their guesthouse, and with whom you can have such wonderful conversations.

Highlight of the whole Japan trip
Jon and Hiromi were excellent hosts, we rarely felt that welcome anywhere. You think you booked an accomodation, when actually it is a whole amazing experience - most delicious food and delightful company plus helpful tips for the trails. The bathroom was shared with 2 other guest (also great company <3).

Amazing minshuku
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying with Jon and Hiromi. Everything was so well cared for from the pick up from Tsugizakura oji to the welcoming food bath and amazing dinner. Waking up to a wonderful breakfast and the view of the surrounding mountains before getting dropped of at the trail again made the experience even better. The bento was also just wonderful after hiking for mulitiple hours. We are so happy with our stay!

Such a warm welcome
Jon and Hiromi were the best hosts. Jon couldn’t do enough to help; whether that be laundry or helping be get stamps for my credencial. Hiromi’s home cooking was spectacular and the portions incredibly generous. The shabu-shabu was great and it was lovely to have the hosts join us for dinner and to share stories and local knowledge. Lovely lunchbox too. Can’t recommend highly enough.

by far our best accommodation!
We wish we could give a 10-star rating out of 5—everything was absolutely perfect and so welcoming. We won’t soon forget the warm welcome, the kindness, the helpful advice, the comfort of the house, and the simply incredible quality of the meals... Everything was wonderful! A huge THANK YOU to Hiromi and Jon for all their efforts in making our stay unforgettable!
