Beautiful location
This location was beautiful. I wish we could have stayed here longer. The onsen was awesome. Great place to stay.

Ok for one night
The house is very nice and very clean. I didn't like the fact that there were so many guests, and the facilities aren't sufficient for that many people.Furthermore, we were not allowed to use the dining room for dinner (though another group was). I didn't like the owner's attitude—he was accommodating to the large group but less so to the six of us.The cost is truly excessive for the service offered.

Mixed stay
Nice views over the dam (but looks like something may be built soon in front). Roof top onsen is amazing and the lower ones are good too. Hostel has very steep staircases and is on 4 levels. We had a room with a window booked, but had to argue for it when we arrived. The supermarket that closes earlier has better food options.

Amazing views
Guesthouse is a little further from trail and other main guesthouses, but did not disappoint. The rooftop onsen overlooking the river was incredible, and the dining space also had access to the same river. We got to try wild boar meat in our hot pot, as well as some deer meat along with our incredible meal. Hostess was incredibly kind and caring when we asked for a bandaid when my partner found a leech on his leg and wouldn't stop bleeding for a bit. She placed a dehumidifier in our shoes overnight which helped tremendously after our last day hiking in the rain.

On wendsday most of the restarants will be cloesd. There will be no dinner only if you go to the supermarket.

Incredible location, and had everything we needed to be very comfortable. The onsen was fabulous.
