Amazing highlight of our trip

What an experience , wonderful hosts and absolutely beautiful place to stay. Highly recommend. Our favourite on the trek . Views were amazing and the food 🙌. Very accommodating, warm and friendly . 10 stars

Excellent in every aspect

We had a wonderful experience in Kiri-no-Sato. The hosts are extremely nice and attentive, and the dinner was among the best we had in all of Japan. Not to mention the onsen with great views to the mountains, which was delightful. We will remember our stay in Kiri-no-Sato with love.

Kiri-no-Sato Takahara Lodge

Arriving at this accommodation in the mist and rain was absolutely magical. We had a wonderful time chatting with the staff and the owner. The meals were delicious and generous, and the rooms and baths were spotless, functional, yet traditional: a true journey in itself.

Best Stay of the Kumano Kodo

This was our favorite stay of the entire trek. Beautiful mountain views from all of the rooms and main area. Amazing, multiple course meals and unlimited morning coffee with access to the sunny balcony seating to look out over the mountains. It was even pretty in the evening when it rained. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The only stars I docked were for the baths- the public bath/showers incredibly clean but the bath was only lukewarm which was disappoint - maybe just a fluke. Otherwise perfect.

Great start; awesome views

This place had so much personality; there is nothing to not love. The views from the room and also the outside lounge area were amazing.
