Yoshinoya Ryokan | Supper & Breakfast: Standard Course
Wow - what an incredible place to stay. Spotlessly clean, incredible kaiseki meals and one of the most special onsens we encountered in our 7 week trip through Japan. The staff were very hospitable throughout our stay. Very comfortable room with an en-suite toilet and beautiful views of the village. On the evening of our arrival, we also visited Tsubo-yu onsen which is right next door and (in my opinion) is mandatory to experience whilst staying in Yunomine Onsen. Later that night, we checked out the open-air private onsen for customers of Yoshinoya Ryokan, which was an amazing experience on a clear starry night. Highly recommend for couples and anyone looking for a relaxing, indulgent stop on their pilgrimage.

Yoshiniya Ryokan
Our stay at the ryokan was amazing. Our hosts were so wonderful, from the warm greeting, the fabulous meal and happy household they provided for us. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay during our trip.

the host was very friendly; I arrived a little earlier than the checkin time and was extremely grateful to get in and enjoy the hot spring in the Ryokan. There was a beautiful outdoor hot spring for the Ryokan; I would definitely come back for the excellent hot spring here! The room is clean. Both dinner and breakfast were very tasty.

Beautiful ryokan
This was one of the highlights of my accommodations. A very well run ryokan and excellent dinner. They also have splendid (and hot!) saunas.

Late arrival due to a long day of walking and then bus to onsen. Private bath was excellent but did not have much time to enjoy it. Food was very nice but heavy on fish. Room was clean but small.

This was the best accommodation on my entire Nakahechi trip. The owners' hospitality upon arrival was incredible, as was the room and the outdoor onsen. Dinner and breakfast were the best I had in all of Japan. I was miraculously able to book close to my arrival date, but I understand that several months' notice is required, which makes sense considering my wonderful experience. The small town is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. Accessible by bus; arrive at the stop well in advance as it gets quite crowded. Thank you so much for everything.
