This itinerary included a variety of experiences related to the ancient Kumano pilgrimage.
There are some walks on the main portion of the Nakahechi pilgrimage, a visit to all three Kumano Grand Shrines, a trip on a traditional boat, and a few nights in onsen villages to enjoy the hot springs.
There is a diversity of walks: a full day walk and easier highlight walks in Hongu and Nachi.

PLAN A (Stay in Yunomine): There are three hot spring areas close together in Hongu: Yunomine, Kawayu and Watarase.
PLAN B (Stay in Kawayu): If accommodations are full in Yunomine then Kawayu is selected next.
PLAN C (Stay in Watarase): If accommodations are full the above two then Watarase is selected.
