I really Scored!
These lovely people alone were worth the walk. It was such a pleasure meeting them and getting to hear their stories. Upon arrival Naomi took all my dirty clothes and washed them for me, which was amazing! Meal times were the highlight as they were genuinely interested in who I was and I easily adored them both. It was my favorite stay on the journey!

The best guesthouse I ever stayed at
Close to Chikatsuyu-oji and the bus stop, which was super convenient. The room was spotless and tidy. But honestly, the best part was Naomi-san and her husband. They were so warm and welcoming — seriously, they treated us like family, not just guests. The food was incredible. Like, home-cooked perfection. That night the sky was super clear, and Naomi-san, who’s really into stargazing, took us outside and started pointing out constellations. That’s when I saw it for the first time — the Southern Cross (or whichever cross-shaped one it was). I’m already dreaming about coming back — maybe next time hiking the Kumano Kodo in a different season. And if I do, I’m 100% staying there again.

The warmest welcome and kindest hosts
Absolutely loved our stay here and meeting Naomi and her husband. They were the warmest and loveliest hosts we met. Meeting the other guests was fun! Oh also the meal was the best we had in Japan - still thinking about it! Thank you :))))

Our stay with Naomi and her husband was simply wonderful. They are the kind of hosts who make you feel at home from the very first moment. Their kindness, warmth, generosity, and great sense of humor made our evening truly special. We shared a lovely time together, full of smiles and genuine hospitality. The dinner was absolutely delicious and beautifully prepared. Every dish was refined, carefully presented, and made with great attention to detail. It was one of the best meals we enjoyed during our journey on the Kumano Kodo. Our traditional Japanese-style room for three people was immaculate, comfortable, and perfectly prepared. It offered an authentic experience while providing everything we needed for a restful night. Naomi and her husband are exceptional people. Their passion for welcoming guests shines through in every detail, and they create memories that stay with you long after you leave. Thank you both for your kindness, your laughter, and your incredible hospitality. We wholeheartedly recommend staying with Naomi and her husband to anyone visiting the Kumano Kodo. We hope to see you again one day!

Great hosts and house
We loved our stay, hosts, food and room. They very generously took us in their car to the starting point of the medium walk so we could start early on a hot day.

Great host and lovely guesthouse
We really enjoyed staying at Naomi san and yosu san guesthouse. It was fanstatic stay and they are so thoughtful after we had walk in a rainy day. Mr Yosu san even drove us to cover 2 more stamps so we save our energy. His hospitality is great appreciated. The dinner was so great to meet with fellow hikers and had a chat abt our holiday.
