Fabulous!
Delightful traditional guest house with all modern comforts including great coffee. Our host went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and generously shared her time and knowledge of the Kumano Kodo and the local area. The dinner Bento box from a local cafe was tasty and satisfying. Highly recommend!

Fantastic guesthouse and host
Location is a 5 min walk from town centre, but right next to restaurants and a great supermarket. It is on a busy road, but fairly quiet overnight for a light sleeper. Slept in Japanese style room which was perfectly well equipped and very spacious. Host was absolutely fabulous and offered to drive myself and another guest out to see a gorgeous Gingko tree in autumn colours and then to a onsen in town. Highly recommend this guest house. Meals were Japanese style and of good quality.

Lovely host who showed us what to do around town and advise us on the bus information to our next leg. Room was spacious enough for family of four. Bento dinner was delicious. Highly recommend adding the dinner plan as the other eateries closes very early. Location was fabulous as it is located near the shopping street of the village although it only consist of a supermarket and 4 other stores. The mochiya was lovely. Highly recommend to try it.

Nice place
The person who welcomed us was very kind and helped us with everything we asked. The place was very clean and tidy but in the photos we had seen it looked different, for example there was a washing machine that was not there.

Good location. Meals mediocre.
The meals should be more substantial.

Modern, quiet & relaxing
We stayed in the Japanese-style room. We loved the contemporary decor, organic roasted tea (hojicha) and the quiet surroundings. There's a lovely bakery shop, convenience store and small restaurant behind the guesthouse. It's also right across the street from the Kodo-Aruki-no-Sato Chikatsuyu bus station. It's about a 10 minute walk from where you get into the Chikatsuyu area from the Nakahechi route.

Loved staying in this wooden house in a quiet neighbourhood, it was very clean. Jun was very hospitable and clear with her instructions. The meals provided were very generous. It's next to a supermarket so convenient to stock up on whatever you need for your trek. Also right next to the bus stop, a perfect location and comfortable stay!
