We enjoyed it here, the rooms were clean and nice. The kitchen was accessible for coffee tea etc. The Onsen on-site was great. Close to everything.

Amazing Stay

This was probably the highlight of the Kumano Kodo for me. Iseya is a ryokan very close to the exit of the Dainichi-goe if hiking from Kumano Hongue Taisha, and the bus stop is close to the entrance. Reception was super helpful, informing us about the various places to eat in the area since Iseya itself does not provide meals (a bit limited, but there are options though they close early), bus routes, and helped carry my suitcase to the my room. Onsen was amazing, very clean, with everything you could possibly need provided.

Basic ryokan one night stay

Simple and basic accommodation. The futon is abit too thin which may be an issue if you are not use to sleeping on hard floors. Reception lady was helpful but seemed quite busy as she was the only one working that day. There are two restaurants nearby within walking distance where you can get dinner. The onsen was nice and made my skin feel quite smooth after.

Beautiful room in Yunomine Onsen

The room was very beautiful, with a kind of balcony where you could sit and see Yunomine Onsen and the front hotels with their respective guests relaxing at their own balconies. The only throwback to mention is that the futons were very hard to sleep on.

Great onsen and a hotel

The room was so beautiful. In the old Japanese style. I had my own bathroom and a balcony. The location is right next to the bus stop and the public bath where you boil the eggs. The guy at the reception knew my name as I walked in and pronounced it perfectly. He gave me advice on what to do and which buses to take. As well as what restaurants were open. I also enjoyed the onsen. I was there by myself around 6PM.
