Rooms and bathrooms were clean. The main room/dining area felt like we were in a garage. It was very messy and really felt like someone’s garage.

古民家ですが、洗面、トイレはリニューアルされており、快適です。巡礼路沿いの物干し場からの山の眺めに癒されます。周りが暗いので、美しい星空が見えます。宿のスタッフとの会話を楽しみながら、美味しいBBQをいただきました。

The view of the mountains from the clothesline along the pilgrimage route is truly soothing. Since it’s dark all around, you can see a beautiful starry sky. No one was available to greet us. The host appeared but he had poor communication in English and was not that helpful. Was not able to make lunch suggestions or make a bento for the following day. Generally not very hospitable. The inn entrance was quite cluttered.

Really nice.
The rooms and bathrooms are generous and clean. The dinner is a barbecue and generous. The downstairs is a little dusty from the wood stove. But everything else is clean and tidy.

Could improve
The place was a bit difficult to find. While walking the Kumano route you fist come across the annexe which is not clear it is the annexe. There are some small signs to the inn in the road below but the signposting could be improved. Room and bathroom facilities were acceptable but lacked a bit of privacy. The BBQ was good but not ideal not to have any carbohydrate between 2 days of serious walking

熊野古道中辺路を歩く際の中間地点に継櫻王子を選び（近露王子近辺では翌日の熊野本宮大社到着が遅れて夕方の新宮駅発の特急に間に合わない）、中で予約の取れた宿の中からこちらを選ばせていただきました。 インバウンドの方の利用が多いと宿主さんもおっしゃってた（実際、歩いていても日本人より圧倒的に外国の方が多かった）、お宿は日本風で和室に布団ですが、お風呂はシャワーのみ、夕飯は海鮮多めのバーベキュー、朝食はクロワッサンとおかずプレート、どの国の方でも馴染みやすい内容でした。 お弁当がバターロールのたまごフィリング、ハムとチーズ、焼きそばをそれぞれ挟んだもので、おにぎりだと食べてもらえるか不安で、という優しいお気持ちが伝わってきました（焼きそばパンは関西の発想かな？私は好きです）あとはバナナと日本のお菓子、アルフォートやブラックサンダーなど行動食に喜ばれそうな内容でした。 朝6時半朝食開始なのですが、事情をお話しして6時に朝ごはんを出していただきました。おかげで13時半に本宮大社着、無事新宮駅から帰途に着くことができました。
