An interesting experience - needs updates

This was a complicated experience as the food was some of the best and most plentiful that we had on trail. The room was just ok, definitely some stains on the comforters, but had a really nice view. The bathrooms were pretty gross - including out of order stained urinals in the mens bathroom. No where to shower that we could find other than the onsen, which was pretty horrifying honestly...overall the hotel was in serious need of renovations. We did not check out the sister ryokan which had another available onsen that we could have used. The location was pretty unbeatable and the service was pleasant.

A bit old but decent room and food

Can use bath at the affiliated ryokan opposite which is nicer and cleaner. Have washing machine for free.

Do not stay at this Minshuku

This place would rate as one of the 2 worst accommodations I’ve ever stayed in. The place was falling apart. The baths were so disgusting I wouldn’t go past the entrance. All the urinals & the only sink in the men’s bathroom were broken, the carpet in the hallway was so worn that I tripped in the holes, the faucet in our room was filthy & barely functioning , the curtains in the dining room were stained with mold, all of the slippers we were required to wear inside the building were old & torn to the point of being a tripping hazard, stair handrails were rotted & in disrepair. The only redeeming feature was that we were allowed to use the baths in the building across the street

Room Reviews

The meals were plentiful and delicious, and the owner was very welcoming. However, the rooms were a bit old and even moldy. I hope this can be improved!

Very basic Minshuku, meals are very good. The building is a bit in need of renovation.
