The food was prepared with great care; unfortunately, the dinner didn't quite suit our taste, though there was a wide selection available. Breakfast was delicious. The hosts are very polite and helpful. The rooms were spacious, clean, and equipped with everything we needed. The onsen baths could have been a little warmer, but the accommodation is in a fantastic location right by the river; the dining area is also in the main building, offering a view of the river at all times. Lunch package was also great. We would book here again—highly recommended.

我們是來自台灣的遊客，作為熊野古道之旅的第一個住宿，我們相當滿意，晚餐內容非常豐富，新鮮的醃製茄子、甜美的生魚片、還有牛肉壽喜燒，更有現炸天婦羅，在一天的健行下來畫下完美句點；早餐份量也是剛好，午餐盒子也幫助隔天的長距離健行。 作為近露王子住宿我給滿分，更忘了說，邊泡澡邊看河景別有一番風情，記得推開窗戶。

Wonderful
Minshuku Chikatsuyu was truly a gem! Following a warm greeting from our hosts we were shown to our comfortable rooms with western beds over tatami mats. The window opened on to a pleasant park-like scene. The facility’s onsen was very nice and in a detached building with separate facilities for men and woman. The windows opened to a pretty view of the river, the water temperature was perfect, and we enjoyed a great soak. The facility had a washer and dryer and the bathrooms were very clean. The dinner and breakfast were excellent and served in a dining room with windows overlooking the river. The hosts were very nice and worked very hard to make sure that everything was just right - which it was. Minshuku Chikatsuyu was by far the nicest stay we had on our Kumano Kodo trek.

A Wonderful Stay on the Kumano Kodo
Without any doubt, Minshuku Chikatsuyu was the best accommodation I stayed at during my entire Kumano Kodo journey. From the moment I arrived, I immediately felt a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made the experience truly special. The room was beautifully maintained and cared for down to the smallest detail. Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged, creating the perfect environment to relax after a long day of walking the Kumano Kodo. The onsen was another highlight: welcoming, spotless, and exactly what I needed to soothe tired legs after hiking. It was a wonderful moment of relaxation and one of the things that made my stay particularly enjoyable. The traditional Japanese cuisine was delicious and beautifully prepared. The food felt authentic and carefully made, offering a wonderful opportunity to experience local Japanese culinary traditions. But what really made Minshuku Chikatsuyu stand out were the owners. They were incredibly friendly, kind, and welcoming. Their genuine hospitality made me feel much more like a guest in someone's home than a customer in an accommodation. Their warmth and willingness to interact made the stay feel personal and memorable. Another important aspect is the excellent value for money. Considering the quality of the room, the cleanliness and comfort of the onsen, the wonderful traditional food, and above all the hospitality of the owners, I found the balance between the price paid and the service received to be excellent. Minshuku Chikatsuyu was exactly the kind of place I hoped to find: comfortable, authentic, welcoming, and full of Japanese hospitality. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone walking the Kumano Kodo.
